TEDxXIMB 2019 - 1 Day To Go

Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) is extremely honored and grateful to be hosting the fifth edition of TEDxXIMB on 20th January 2019. With just a day to go for the event to commence, the students and the entire XIMB fraternity is very excited to be hosting the eminent speakers.

TED, as we all know is a non-profit organization devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks. Independently run TEDx events help share powerful ideas and thoughts in communities around the world. It remains true to the theme of TED and celebrates ideas worth spreading.

With a view to sharing its vision with TED and TEDx, TEDxXIMB 5.0 has invited speakers from diverse backgrounds sharing their thought-provoking and life-altering ideas and experiences with us based on the theme of “Chakravyuh, the inescapable formation”.

The speakers for TEDxXIMB 5.0 range from Lt. Gen. Satish Dua- working in Public Service (Army) to Mr. Divyanshu Damani- YouTuber and Social media influencer. We have Dr. Sruti Mohapatra who is an inspiration in the field of social service to Mr. A. L. Jagannath who has been awarded as the “Most Influential Marketer” by World Marketing Congress. We are anxiously looking forward to the talk by Mr. Paul Walsh (Sports, Activist, and Public Service); Mr. Sachin Das Burma who was the mastermind behind the advertising of the World Hockey Campaign and Miss. Megha Vishwanath who is a business journalist.

Chakravyuh: The inescapable formation” is the theme for this year’s TEDxXIMB event. According to Mythology, the Chakravyuh or Padmavyuh is a multi-tier defensive formation used in the battle of Kurukshetra by Dronacharya. Abhimanyu, son of Arjun knew how to enter the formation, he had no idea how to get out.

It symbolizes the way we live life; not knowing what’s in store for us. It is by default that once we enter the Chakravyuh, then there is no other alternative rather than exploring different avenues or ways out. While volatility and uncertainty define the present scenario of the business world, Chakravyuh gives the hint of complexity and ambiguity in it. We look for to our speakers’ experiences giving us the support and motivation to find our own path through hurdles and problems.
