Indian Institute of Management Raipur organized the 6thAakash Entrepreneurs meet on 7thDecember 2014. The theme of the meet was “Secrets of the Foodie Entrepreneurs” and 11 entrepreneurs from food business joined up the meet to discuss various challenges and opportunities in the emerging field of food business.
“You should offer to the customer only what you yourself would be willing to eat”, said Mr. Shafique, Owner, Madrasi Group of Hotels, Raipur. The man has been serving the foodies of Raipur with delicious food for more than four decades and is a firm believer that money can never be a good motive behind starting a business. He emphasized that you can be a good entrepreneur in this business if you think just of one mantra and that is how can I best satisfy my customers.
The IIM Raipur was fortunate enough to see the presence of Mr. Prasanth S, co-founder KAPS ice creamswho has won 3 medals in The Great Indian Ice cream Contest. Based upon his experience of making a mark in this competitive world he gave the mantra that it is not wise to fight with big players in the business if you are just a start up; rather creating your own market is much more useful.For the budding entrepreneurs, his message was not to wait but just dive into entrepreneurship and rest would take care of itself.One more dignitary present in the meet, Mr. Jaideep Chawla, Founder, Mad Bakers has also followed the same philosophy and differentiated his offerings from the competitors by catering to a niche market of consumers with pure vegetarian(eggless) preferences. 
There’s almost nothing better than being able to interact with your customers in this business. Only by this method you get to know how much they love your product. To cater this need in this business the panel also discussed the importance of training of staff to take valuable inputs from customers especially if you are in a customized focused business like Subway.
The session witnessed gross interactionamong the entrepreneurs of Raipur and the budding entrepreneurs of IIM Raipur. This was followed by a networking session where the participants interacted with each other on a personal note. The event proved to be a major value addition for all.
