Bangalore, Karnataka, June 25, 2014 – Symbiosis Institute of Business Management(SIBM), Bengaluru played host to Dr. Rabi N. Mishra, Chief General Manager, Reserve Bank of India. Dr. Rabi Mishra is an economist by learning and a senior Financial Specialist by profession.A Harvard university alumni, at present, he holds the position of an Advisor, Financial Stability Department, Central Bank of Oman (on secondment from RBI).
Dr. Rabi Mishra held an interactive session with the management students of SIBM, Bengaluru. The theme of his talk was “Global Financial Crisis: Genesis…Lessons…Agenda at Hand.” He talked at length about the sub-prime crisis of 2008 and elaborated on how it originated and went on to impact the global economy.
His talk focused on every aspect of the crisis: possible reasons, lessons learnt from the crisis and the action plan for the future. He focused on how India can deal with the crisis and threw light on various action plan and crisis management frameworks. He closed his talk by urging the students to be humans first and then a manager.
