The CAT exam marking scheme for 2024 is as follows:

  • Correct answers: +3 marks

  • Incorrect answers: -1 mark deducted

  • Unanswered questions: No marks deducted

  • Non-MCQs: No marks deducted 

A total 66 questions are asked in the CAT exam for 198 marks.

  • Quantitative Aptitude (QA): 22 questions

  • Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC): 24 questions
