IIM Rohtak recently concluded its final placement process for the 2017-19 PGP batch, with all its students getting successfully placed in various reputed organizations. The salary packages have gone up and more number of recruiters have come on board.
The average salary offered increased from ₹ 11.7 lakh per annum last year to ₹ 11.85 lakh per annum this time around. The highest package offered was ₹ 24.13 lakh per annum. A major chunk of 110 students were hired by 10 major recruiters including Cognizant, Ernst & Young, Deloitte, ICICI Bank and KPMG.
The institute has hit its 100% placement target for its Post Graduate Program (PGP) once again. It released the placement data for the 2017-19 batch after submitting a corresponding report to the CRISIL for audit purposes.
Over 90 companies participated in IIM Rohtak’s placement session for 2019. Of those, 40 were new companies.

IIM Rohtak recorded not just a spike in the number of companies that made placement offers, but also a significant increase in the number of new companies that came for hiring. 45 PPIs/PPOs offered to students revealed that the institute’s pedagogy and curriculum is in line with the industry requirements and is ensuring that students are ready to face challenges in the real world.

IIM Rohtak sector-wise placement for 2019
Sales and Marketing - 32% of all placements
32% of the 2017-19 batch students were placed in sales and marketing domain, with profiles such as Product Manager, Business Development Manager, Market Research Analyst, Marketing Consultant, Brand Manager and more. Some of the major recruiters in this sector were Tata Steel, Aditya Birla Group, BPCL, Yes Bank, Amul, Dabur, ACG Worldwide, Yes Bank and more.
Consulting and General Management – 30% of all placements
The Consulting and General Management domain witnessed a significant increase in the number of hires as well as the number of companies interested in it. It constituted 30% of all the offers. Big-time companies like KPMG, Deloitte and Ernst & Young returned to the institute and offered lucrative positions in these fields.
IT and Analytics – 21% of all placements
The share of IT & Analytics in IIM Rohtak’s placement process for 2019 was 21%. Some of the top recruiters that hired students for IT and Analytics roles were Mu Sigma, Axtria, Accenture, Cognizant and others.
Finance – 12% of all placements
12% of all the 2017-19 batch students were lapped up for Finance profiles, and the domain also proved to be one of the highest paying ones. Prominent banking establishments like ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra, SBI, Yes Bank etc. recruited students for multiple Finance-related roles. Various Nonbanking Financial Companies (NBFCs) like Future First, Indus Valley Partners, Thomson Reuters, Arcesium etc. also hired students for some niche positions. The students were offered roles in wealth management, investment management, financial management and credit analysis amongst others.
Apart from the above, 3% and 2% of all the placements were in Human Resources (HR) and Operations roles respectively.
In the entire process, IIM Rohtak was able to associate itself with some of the biggest names in multiple industries. The diversity of the 8th PGP batch, both in terms of work experience and gender, was very well appreciated by the visiting recruiters, and it also reflected in the extended offers in major domains like HR, Information Technology, Marketing, General Management Finance, Operations and Consulting. Many companies offer profiles related to strategy design, strategy execution and business development, showing great belief in the skills of IIM Rohtak students.
