IIM Visakhapatnam Background

1. Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam was set up by Govt. of India in September 2015.
2. IIM Vizag is currently located in a temporary, but the state-of-the-art facility in the Andhra University campus in the ‘City of Destiny,’ Visakhapatnam.
3. IIM Bangalore is currently mentoring IIM Vizag.
4. The campus is well-equipped and provides all modern-day facilities to its students.

IIM Vizag Courses Offered

IIM Vizag offers three programmes:

IIM Visakhapatnam PGP Overview

1. PGP at IIMV is curated to train students to take on leadership roles in a continuously evolving global scenario.
2. For the PGP 2017-19 batch, the number of seats was increased to 120 from the previous 100 seats.
3. The curriculum is divided into six terms where the first year focuses on finance, accounting, marketing, communication, strategy, economics, industrial organization and the second year advanced concepts like B2B Management, International Management, Mergers & Acquisitions, Advanced Analytics, etc.
4. The students also undergo a mandatory summer internship program at the end of the first three terms.
5. The eligibility to apply for the PGP course is similar to CAT 2019 eligibility, i.e., have a Bachelor’s degree with 50 percent marks or be a final year student with the required percentage.
6. The admission process for the PGP course at IIMV is-
   1. Phase 1: CAT 2019 score
   2. Phase 2: Shortlisting based on CAT Score, Class X, XII & Bachelors Score, Diversity and Work Experience
   3. Phase 3: Writing Ability Test (WAT) & Personal Interview (PI) rounds if not shortlisted by IIMB, IIMC or IIMK.

IIM Visakhapatnam FPM Overview

1. Fellow Program in Management at IIMV is conducted under the mentorship of IIM Banglore.
2. The duration of the FPM program is five years leading to the award of the degree of ‘Doctor of Philosophy’ (Ph.D.)
3. FPM offers two areas of specialization:
   1. Finance & Accounting
   2. Production & Operations Management.
4. The structure of FPM at IIMV is:
   1. Phase 1: Coursework
   2. Pase 2: Thesis Work
5. The FPM students get to work as Research Assistants (RA) or Teaching Assistants (TA) throughout the course.
6. The eligibility criteria for FPM at IIM Vizag are-
   1. Masters Degree (Bachelors with 10+2+3 pattern followed by Masters) with minimum 55%  or two-year Post-Graduate Diploma with 55% in bachelor’s degree or Professional Degree like CA / ICWA / CS with minimum 50% and B. Com degree with minimum 55%  or Professional Bachelor Degree (four years/8-semesters) with minimum 6.5 CGPA or equivalent. Click here for details.

IIM Visakhapatnam PGCEP Overview

1. The PGCEP course was launched on 6^th October 2018.
2. It has been designed to create knowledge and resources comparable in excellence on a global scale.
3. The PGCEP course at IIMV has divided into three terms and 21 courses. The program includes a total of 252 hours of teaching.
4. The eligibility for the PGCEP is:
   1. Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA
   2. Minimum 3 years of work experience
5. The admission process for the PGCEP course consists of Written Test and Personal Interview.
