ISL (Indian Super League) will revolutionize Indian soccer
A sport is such field that all of us are expected to have some knowhow on what is new in sports? And if sport like soccer is driven through league, it is a big dream which is now happening in India.

Read: ISL (Indian Super League) will revolutionize Indian soccer

Apart from cricket and hockey, soccer is also a very popular sport in India. There is a considerable and passionate fan following for various tournaments of soccer like the FIFA (The Fédération Internationale de Football Association ) World Cup, English Premier League, La Liga, CONCACAF Champions League and the UEFA Europe League. So these Indian fans who are used to world-class soccer, if gets the soccer in their country, it would attract mass of people.

Realizing such a need and following the model of Indian Premier League which is a success, a joint venture between IMG Worldwide and Reliance Industries Ltd and Star India Pvt. Ltd with the All India Football Federation has been launched with the motive of igniting a revolution in the sport and Indian soccer to flourish at the highest level on the international platform.

The proposal for the ‘League Partners’ in the ISL received an overwhelming response backing of big names, from sports stars to Bollywood and industrialists to cricket celebrities. The eight new franchises formed at ISL on 14th April, 2014 include:

• Sun Group for Bengaluru.
• Den Network for Delhi
• Videocon, with Dattaraj Salgaocar and Shrinivas V. Dempo for Goa
• John Abraham partnering with Lajong for Guhawati.
• Sachin Tendulkar and PVP Ventures for Kochi
• Sourav Ganguly, Harshavardhan Neotia, Atletico Madrid, Sanjeev Goenka, Utsav Parekh forKolkata.
• Ranbir Kapoor, for Mumbai.
• Salman Khan Wadhawan Group for Pune.

This step will enhance Indian football and will represent a transformational change internationally. The highest quality and technical standard would engage fans and compel improvements in playing standards.

This will also grip the beauty of soccer and it will provide a thrust to the sport in India resulting in the development of soccer as a major sport for the youngster in India. It is a great pride for the people of India as there will be new era in the development of soccer.

The introduction of ISL will revolutionize and change the background of Indian soccer team. It will create renewed energy in the fans and players of Indian soccer. This innovative and experimental approach was much needed and it will help to gain mass popularity.

The ISL would be a two month tournament from September to November which is an attempt to popularize soccer in India. The owners should also ensure that the broadcasters, the football federation should be taken utmost care of to improve the game.

However there are many challenges for the ISL to be a success. These include the timings of the league because most of the other International Leagues are played this time. This may decrease the viewers to ISL because of the other interesting leagues. It will take span of at least three-four years to be fully established because of the other tournaments in India is already established. The infrastructure is yet another challenge. The quality of game and players need to be consistent which is not easy as Indian team is nowhere in terms of soccer in the world and the international players may be busy attending other leagues.

So, these challenges should be carefully managed, and a modeled, packaged, marketed and qualitative tournament will be accepted by the people of India. The best training methods, talent, coaches, and equipments should be provided at ISL. It will then, surely attract the popularity, support and the interest of Indians in soccer making it the largest tournaments in India as well as globally.
