Mr. Raveen Sastry, MYNTRA Co-Founder’s Tryst with IFIM Students

IFIM had the great pleasure of welcoming cofounder of the fashion e-commerce giant Myntra,
Mr. Raveen Shastry, to talk with the students of 2014-16 PGDM batch. Mr. Shastry is an alumnus of R .V engineering college and had the entrepreneurial bug hit him early on. This shows in the various ventures he started along with his partners. Currently he is the co-founder of Nudgespot which helps companies to trigger mails, SMSs and in app messages to their customers to complete a purchase.

His interaction with the students was as casual as he carried himself. He stated that to start one’s own business we needn’t start with an idea. It can start with the problem that we face in our day to day life.As a believer in the future of mobile apps he said that programming will be an added asset in an entrepreneur’s armor.
He also asserted that the best thing that happened to him and helped him to start with various ventures were the good people who were with him. He wasn’t finished with his talk to the budding entrepreneurs in the IFIM auditorium. He advised them to be like animals and never give up. We should carry a good attitude when we start a venture. And finally we should make a product which the customer wants. He also stated it is absolutely fine to fail. The talk ended with a lasting sentence, “Startup is like smoking, and once you start it is hard to stop.”

Shankar said, “The most important aspect of leadership is to let go of control and surrender
with childlike innocence. A true leader has qualities of compassion, sacrifice, care, determination, humility and leads by example creating leaders and not followers. Everybody is bigger than their problems and they should have faith that only the best will happen to them when their intention is pure.
