IFIM observes Good Governance Day
Published : Wednesday, 24 December, 2014 05:40 PM

On the occasion of 90th birthday of the 10th Prime minister of India - Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, IFIM B School, being celebrated on December 25, observed “Good Governance Day” with great reverence in compliance with directives issued by the Union Government. The students of PGDM 14-16 batch organized this event, hosted by Mr Sarthak Daing. Three student speakers reflected on the theme ‘Need of the Hour: Good Governance’ – a topic our Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi has encouraged all Indian youth to ponder on.

Mr Aditya Ramachandran, the first student speaker spoke on the effects of good and bad governance on the economy as a whole. He also stressed upon the main characteristics of good governance by the UN. The next student speaker, Ms Aishwarya M recalled the contributions of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee to India during his illustrious tenure of six years (1998-2004), when India conformed to the changes and developments of the millennium globally. Finally, Mr Vishnu Arvind Pradip stressed upon corporate governance of India, national policies, political and economic administration, decision making, stability and accountability of Indian governance. The event was then closed with one of Atalji’s famous Hindi quotes. The occasion concluded with remarks by Director Dr Madhumita Chatterjee who gave an impactful speech on the importance of good governance in any Institute or corporate body.
