It is said that the idea of competition is the next environment to learn and with this belief the students of Indian Institute of Management Raipur are hosting Equinox 5.0 in association with State Bank of India; a fest which promises to be a Mega conclave of business acumen and cultural heritage to be held from January 30th to 1st February.
The business events include a series of simulation games, live case studies and quizzes that will test the fundamental principles from the various spheres of management. Some of the events that will be featured as a part of this year’s edition of Equinox are‘Udyam’- the B-Plan event, ‘Propergy’-a resource management simulation game, ‘Seeker’- an online treasure hunt, ‘Grey Carnage’ - the HR based case study competition,‘I am Legend’- an event where participants will have to make crucial decisions under stress,Tarkash-a debate competition.Other events include- Chanakya – a simulation game to test the strategic minds of the participants; and Mudit Vriddhi – a game to promote the Chhattisgarhi handicraft. Besides business events Equinox will also showcase several cultural events such as, Nukkad – a street play, Verve- the fashion show, Armageddon- a rock concert and Footwork-the dance event, where the students will get an opportunity to display their talents. The business events will be held at the IIM Raipur campus and the cultural events will be staged at PCC Ground, Shankar Nagar.
The event which is entirely student-driven aims to nurture and hone the essential managerial attributes such as teamwork, leadership and competitive spirit. Equinox 5.0, a 3-day event,provides a platform where one has to perform, accomplish and replicate success time and again to be a step ahead of the rest of the world. Equinox 5.0 shall cover a multitude of competitions ranging from management-related events to cultural events and shall witness the best minds and the most talented young individuals of the country.
As an icing on the cake, the event will conclude with an enthralling performance by Sunburn- electronic dance music, on 1st of February from 07:00 PM to 10:00 PM at RTO ground. Passes for Sunburn will be available at the venue on the day of the event on a first-come-first-serve basis.
This year the event is being organized on an unprecedented scale with a bigger budget and more participation than ever before. The various clubs of the college are gearing up to create the most challenging of competitions which will rack the brains of the best minds of the country on the one hand and will provide unbridled fun to the participants on the other. The title sponsors and platinum sponsors of the event are State Bank of Indiaand IDBI Bank respectively. The event is co-sponsored by Union Bank of India, Videocon Telecom, EOS Cinemas, Hettich Exclusive store and Radio Mirchi will be the Radio Partner.
