Jaipuria Noida celebrates its Eighth Convocation Ceremony

 206 students of the batch of 2012-14 were awarded degree

Noida, November 30th, 2014: The Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida hosted its “Eighth Convocation Ceremony” on Sunday, November 30th, 2014 for 119 graduating students of PGDM (2012-14) batch, 40 graduating students of PGDM Services (2012-14) and 47 graduating students of PGDM Marketing (2012-14) batch. 
 
Honorable Mr. Ankur Warikoo - Head, Groupon APAC Emerging Countries delivered the convocation address to the enthusiastic gathering. Shri Sharad Jaipuria, Chairman of Jaipuria Institutes of Management awarded the diplomas to all the graduating students while the chief guest, Mr. Ankur Warikoo, handed over the Chairman’s Gold and Vice-Chairperson’s Silver medals to the top achievers amongst the graduating students for their academic excellence in the presence of members of academic council, corporate dignitaries, faculty, staff, family members, friends and members of the press.
 
Gracing the occasion, Mr. Ankur Warikoo, wished the outgoing batch all the success and said that he was eager to witness their achievements in the times to come. He further added that the world today is presenting opportunities as never before and success stories emerging from the younger sections of our nation are a norm. So for all the steps that the institute and its students take towards their individual success, he asked for all the students to keep two operating words in mind - scale and impact. Do not think small and do not think soft was his simple mantra for the students stepping out into the corporate world. Lastly, he added that Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida has prepared them to face the corporate world with finesse and that now it is time for them to pay back and the best currency to that with is success.

Shri Sharad Jaipuria in his welcome address extended a warm welcome to Mr. Ankur Warikoo and congratulated the students on successfully completing their Post Graduate Programme in Management. Speaking on the occasion, he elaborated on the aspect of dreaming big, taking small steps to that dream, getting a little uncomfortable along the way, never to forget the importance of influencing the society around with the goodness of thoughts, the evergreen gladness of deeds, and the enthusiasm of self. He gave examples of India’s successful sportsperson Ms. Saina Nehwal and our towering Prime Minister Narender Modi coming from modest circumstances, who worked hard for everything in their lives but were able to transcend their circumstances and thrive. 
 
Dr. Rajiv Ranjan Thakur, Director, while presenting the Progress Report of the Institute congratulated the entire Jaipuria fraternity for the period of 2012-14 in its commitment towards the pursuit of excellence. He shared that Jaipuria Noida’s ‘A’ Grade Accreditation by NAAC, MBA equivalence by AIU, A++ rating by Business India Survey and CSR-GHRDC ranking as 5th amongst emerging 40 Top B-Schools of excellence is a testimony of the quality envisaged and delivered in the institute. In his speech Dr. Thakur extended his heartiest congratulations and wishes to the outgoing students and thanked the parents for entrusting Jaipuria with the responsibility of transforming the students. He further emphasized that 30th November 2014, is an important milestone in their careers, as they embark upon the journey into the real world, and beckoned them to use their knowledge in the service of society and hoped that they would excel in their personal and professional lives.
 
Thereafter, awards were given to the deserving students for their outstanding academic achievements. The Gold Medal for PGDM was awarded to Ms. Bhavna Tandon and Silver Medal to Ms. Sakshi Gupta. The specialization wise toppers were Ms. Bhavna Tandon (Financial Management), Ms. Megha Mahajan (Marketing Management), Ms. Isha Singhal (Human Resource Management), Ms. Sakshi Gupta (International Business), and Mr Tarun Harit (Operations Management). 
 
For PGDM (Services), the Gold Medal was awarded to Ms. Komal Nagar and Silver Medal to Ms. Shipra Gupta. 
 
For PGDM (Marketing), The Gold Medal was awarded to Ms. Shubhanshi Dhooper and Silver Medal to Mr. Tarun Harit.
 
The GOLD MEDAL FOR Overall BEST STUDENT OF 2012-14 was awarded to Ms Bhavana Tandon.
 
The GOLD MEDAL FOR BEST WOMAN STUDENT OF 2012-14 was awarded to Ms Sakshi Gupta.
 
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by the Vice Chairman of the Jaipuria Group of Institutions, Mr. Shreevats Jaipuria who stressed on the fact that each passing student should believe in themselves to overcome difficult situations and unknown problems that they would encounter as they go ahead in the professional and personal lives. He gave the examples of Mr. Dhirubhai Ambani, Prime Minister Narender Modi and Mr. Mahendra Singh Dhoni who faced difficult circumstances in their lives and overcome them through self-belief. He stressed on the fact that hard work has no substitute in the journey of success. He thanked Mr. Ankur Warikoo for presiding over the ceremony and mentioned that his presence itself is an inspiration for one and all. Lastly, he congratulated all the students and said that he firmly believes that they are all set to take on the world in their own way.
 
All in all the Graduation ceremony was an emotional moment for the family members of the students as their loved ones went on stage to receive their commendations. The gathering then proceeded for a group photograph.
