Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies(JBIMS)

Founded in 1965, the Institute of JBIMS strives for providing quality management education to the students by equipping them with business acumen to become successful business leaders. Programs offered by JBIMS

There are full-time as well part-time programs depending on the interest of the individuals seeking admission to transform their career.

Full Time

1.MMS Programme

It is the flagship course of the JBISM. It is a two-year full-time postgraduate degree course in management that has been consistently updated according to the current trends to sharpen the qualitative and quantitative skills of the students. The Programme taps into the untapped students’ potential to develop managerial skills and make them efficient decision makers in the industry.

Eligibility

The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of a minimum of three years duration, in any disciple, securing minimum 50 % aggregate marks, or an equivalent CGPA (45 % for candidates of backward class categories and disabled candidates belonging to the state of Maharashtra)

  • The candidates pursuing their final year of the Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification examination can also apply, though he/she must have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in their latest examination

Selection Criteria

Based on the CAT/MH-CET score, the candidates are shortlisted for the In-Person Assessment. The cut-offs for the 2015-17 batch were as follows:

Based on the above scores, and other factors, an Application Rating (AR) is prepared. On the basis of the AR, candidates are short-listed for the IPA. The various parameters deciding the AR are:

Shortlisted candidates for the IPA have to go through the group activity, personal interview and the written ability test. The weight of the above components are as follows:

And hence comes the stage of the final selection, which is based on the total score. The total score of the candidate is calculated by:

Total Score = 0.60 (AR) + 0.40 (IPA)

The minimum total score required for admission in MMS or MSc Finance is 50, for the General Category, and 45, for the Reserved Category.

2. MSC in Finance from JBIMS

The finance sector is an integral part of the economy. The frenetic business world has a lot of challenges that need to be addressed and demand for the skilled professionals to cater the same. For which there is a lot of growth opportunities as well which can be met with knowledge supplemented by live projects to develop right approach.

This program from JBIMS is first of its kind aims to impart industry-relevant knowledge in the field of finance and create competitive finance professionals through their updated curriculum, seminars with industry leaders. The key aspect advantage of this program is that students from non-finance backgrounds can also learn and advance their careers. The faculty is an ideal mix of academia and stalwarts of the industry.

Eligibility

  • The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of a minimum of three years duration, in any disciple, securing minimum 50 % aggregate marks, or an equivalent CGPA (45 % for candidates of backward class categories and disabled candidates belonging to the state of Maharashtra)
  • The candidates pursuing their final year of the Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification examination can also apply, though he/she must have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in their latest examination
  • The candidate must have had Mathematics as a subject, at the higher secondary level, or at the first year of his/her degree course

The Admission Procedure for MMS and MSc Finance in JBIMS

  • The candidates are shortlisted based on their profiles and their CAT/MH-CET/GMAT (For International Candidates) scores
  • The second round includes the In-Person Assessment (IPA), that consists of group activity, personal interview and a written ability test

(Interviews for International Candidates are taken on Skype)

Exams Accepted for MMS and MSc Finance

For Indian Candidates, the exams accepted are CAT/MH-CET, while for the Foreign Candidates, the exam accepted is GMAT.

Fee Structure

The fee structure for both MMS and MSc Finance, as on May’15, was INR 2.1 L.

Part-Time Programs

1. MFM (Master in Financial Management)

Students who have attained significant knowledge in the field of finance and are looking for an upgrade can pursue this programme. They must have an impressive knowledge about the finance-related areas such as management services, project planning and control, corporate planning, management audit, internal audit, marketing analysis and economic analysis will find these programmes useful.

2. MMM (Master in Marketing Management)

The program is designed in for the marketing professionals seeking an opportunity to upscale their position from mid-level to top level in an organization. They must have practical experience in the fields like Marketing Planning, Sales Management, Public Relation, Advertising etc. The curriculum is well-structured synced with the current market trends to help the students to achieve their purpose.

3. MHRDM (Master in Human Resource Development & Management)

Similar with the intent that of the other programs, which is to elevate your career for top positions in the public or private sector organizations. The program structure is aligned with the Indian industry through proper and sufficient knowledge to facilitate interaction with people at all levels effectively. Students can expect enhancement of human resource skills along with leadership skills. This program will prove highly beneficial for individuals who have executive experience in Human Resource Development sector.

Eligibility criteria for all part-time course offered by JBIMS

  • The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of a minimum of three years duration, in any disciple, recognized by the association of Indian universities, securing minimum 50 % aggregate marks
  • He candidate must have passed a graduation examination in Industrial Engineering, Mumbai, and should also have qualified in GATE, conducted by the IITs
  • Also, the candidate must have a full-time working experience of minimum 2 years, at the supervisory or executive level

The Admission Procedure for part-time courses:

  • On the basis of the application, the candidates are shortlisted for the written test
  • The candidates who pass the written test, or shortlisted for the personal interview

The exam accepted for part-time course is MH-CET.

Fee Structure

The fee structure for the part-time courses as on May’15 was INR 1.53 L.

International Research Conference

Every year a research conference is organized at jbims with a theme related to market trends such as “Disrupting Businesses, Transforming Markets” was the theme for the year 2017. The conference for the year 2018 will be held in the month of March. The theme for this year is “Inclusive Growth vis-à-vis Globalization and Reverse Globalization. Research paper of approximately 300 words are accepted and gives the opportunity to publish the top papers in International Research Conference while other papers will be published in the Institute Journal.

Placements are an integral part of an institute. It is the testimony of students’ hard work and faith of the recruiters in the high caliber of the students. The placement season at the institute has been remarkable year after year. There was a 38% increase as compared to this year, the highest package was 34.36 lakhs and the average was 29.01 lakhs. 19% of the batch bagged average package of 29.01 Lakhs.

The highest package offered was 34.36L, witnessing a growth of 38% as compared to the previous year. The hike in package was not only witnessed in the highest package but also, a rise of 25% was recorded resulting in 16.3 L.

It will be a golden opportunity for the students who wish to make their career or reach new heights in diverse fields like Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management with respect to their area of interests.
