The Indian Institute of Management Raipur conducts management development programme on Financial Modelling using Excel at its campus in Sejbahar. The programme will be inaugurated by Prof. B.S.Sahay, Director IIM Raipur.
The objective of the three days’ programme (Mar.’06-08, 2014) is to facilitate the users to analyse their financial data on complex problems using Microsoft Excel. It is designed for managers, senior executives and administrators to improve their financial skills in order to make critical investment and financial decisions.
The participants include corporate executives from different organisations and academicians from reputed institutes. The program benefits the participants by providing them with the core concepts of financial modelling, enhances their hands-on experience with excel, focuses on building spreadsheet modelling skills and explains various financial applications.
The pedagogy is a combination of interactive discussions based on class exercises, real time applications and is spread across the conceptual as well as the practical aspects of financial modelling.
The broad topics which will be covered during the program include excel basics and data analysis using excel, forecasting of financial statements like profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, risk management including risk measures using standard deviation and beta and volatility measures using ARCH and GARCH models, capital budgeting and other related contemporary issues.
The sessions would be taken by eminent faculty members of IIM Raipur which include Prof. Venkata Vijay Kumar P., Prof. S.K Mitra and Prof. Kannadhasan. Prof. S.K. Mitra and Prof. Kannadhasan also recently participated in Global Colloquium on “Case Writing Workshop” organised by Harvard Business School, Boston, USA.
