IIM Ranchi PGDHRM Cutoff – The Process and Everything in Between

If we talk about the IIM Ranchi PGDHRM cut-off, there is no explicit CAT cut-off criteria laid out by the Institute for its PGDHRM program. However, IIM Ranchi goes by a composite scoring method for determination of its cut-off.

The admission is granted to the PGDHRM program based on a candidate’s performance in the Common Admission Test (CAT), Written Ability Test (WAT), Personal Interview (PI), as well as his/her profile.

Admission to Post Graduate Programme in Human Resource Management of IIM Ranchi (leading to the MBA-HR degree) will be based on the performance of candidates in CAT 2020, Personal Interview (PI) and candidates’ profile. The PI process will be conducted by IIM Ranchi. The Shortlisting criteria, weightage for different components and the profile scoring method are given below.

1. Initial shortlisting for PI Process

An initial shortlist (from the list of applicants) shall be prepared comprising of candidates who will be eligible for the PI process for admission to the MBA-HR 2021-23 batch of IIM Ranchi. This shortlist will be purely based on CAT Performance, Work Experience and Bachelor’s Degree and is expected to be announced around the second week of March 2021.

70% weightage is given to the CAT Score, 15% weightage is given to the discipline at the Bachelor’s Level and 15% weightage is given to the Work Experience.

Note: Final discretion on classifying an academic programme into Bachelor’s Discipline component score for preparing initial shortlist for WAT/PI process will rest with Indian Institute of Management Ranchi.

2. PI Process

PI process would be conducted virtually and information about the same will be shared in due course of time. The exact dates for the same would be communicated to shortlisted candidates in due course.

3. Final Admissions 2021-23

After the PI, the Consolidated Merit List (CML) would be compiled on the basis of the following components and their corresponding weights:

1. CAT Percentile

40% weightage is assigned to the CAT scores of the candidates who are eligible for PI.

2. PI Score

The weightage assigned for Personal Interview (PI) score is 30%.

3. Profile

The profile scoring methodology for admissions to the Post-graduate Programme in Human Resource Management of IIM Ranchi is given below.

Profile Out of 30 Marks:

• Academic Profile (15 Marks)

Evaluation based on academic background in SSC, HSC and Graduation.

• Work Experience (10 Marks)

• Diversity (5 Marks)

Gender Diversity (5 marks)

5 marks will be awarded to female and transgender candidates only.

• Academic Diversity (5 marks)

Note: Final discretion on classifying an academic programme eligible for academic diversity score will rest with Indian Institute of Management Ranchi.

Reservation Policy:

IIM Ranchi will apply Government of India reservation policy for admission to Central Educational Institutions (CEIs).

IIM Ranchi reserves the right to change, modify, add or delete any shortlisting and selection criteria as well as any other information in the admissions criteria document for MBA-HR programme, if considered necessary at any point of time. The details contained in this document are applicable only to MBA-HR programme shortlisting, selection and admissions process of IIM Ranchi for the batch of 2021- 23.

Any dispute concerning Admissions to PGDHR Batch 2021-23 would be subject to jurisdiction of the competent Courts within the territorial jurisdiction of city of Ranchi only.
