IIM Visakhapatnam Admission Criteria

Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam was set up by Govt. of India in September 2015 and mentored by IIM Bangalore. Currently, it is located in a temporary, but the state-of-the-art facility in the Andhra University campus in Visakhapatnam, also known as the ‘City of Destiny.’ The campus is well-equipped and provides all modern-day facilities to its students. No significant changes in the admission criteria have been observed in the last few years for IIMV. There are multiple criteria based on which the selections are made.

IIMV follows a three-phase process while selecting students for the PGP 2019-21 session. Let us take a closer look at the admission criteria for IIM Visakhapatnam in details.

IIM Visakhapatnam Criteria 2019: Phase 1

1. Students must write CAT 2018 exam on 25th November 2018
2. Candidates shortlisted based on CAT 2018 cutoff percentile will be invited to fill the PGP 2019-21 application form.
3. Those invited must submit the following documents along with the online application form:
   1. Statement of Purpose
   2. Details of semester wise / year wise marks in Bachelor’s degree etc.
   3. Copies of all academic transcripts & certificates
   4. Copies of work experience certificates (if applicable)
   5. Certificate of disability (if applicable)
   6. Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Other Backward Class – Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (if applicable).
4. IIM Visakhapatnam will consider CAT 2018 overall cutoff percentile and sectional cutoff percentile

IIM Visakhapatnam Criteria 2019: Phase 2

1. Those shortlisted from phase 1 will be the Qualified Confirmed Candidates (QCC).
2. All QCC candidates will be sent an email from IIMV around the first week of April 2019 with a link to re-confirm their interest.
3. Those who reconfirm their interest will be considered for Phase 2 and will be the Reconfirmed Qualified Candidates (RQC)
4. The scores for RQC candidates will be adjusted as specified in the PGP 2019-21 Admission Process document.

6. Based on the above weightages IIMV releases a pre-PI rank list.

IIM Visakhapatnam Criteria 2019: Phase 3

Those candidates who are shortlisted based on phase 2 will qualify for WAT and PI rounds.

1. Condition 1: Those who have appeared for WAT and PI rounds for PGP or PGPM 2019-21 at IIM Calcutta or IIM Bangalore or IIM Kozhikode will not have to appear for these rounds at IIMV. The scores from the above IIMs will be considered
2. Condition 2: Those who are not shortlisted by the above three IIMs (IIM, IIMB, and IIMK) will be called for further rounds at IIMV.
3. The weights of the various components will be as follows:

IIM Visakhapatnam gives preference to candidates who have been consistent in their performance all through Class X, Class XII, Bachelors and CAT 2018 rather than only CAT 2018.
