The curiosity buzzing around the NMAT can be exciting, but it's also natural to have questions and concerns. Especially about the marking scheme. So let’s make it clear that each question you answer correctly in the NMAT is like getting a high five! You get a point for every right answer (1 mark). And do you know, there is no negative marking in case of goof-ups? There is no negative marking in the NMAT examination for any wrong attempt or attempt left unattempted. What are the section wise marks in NMAT exam?

Let’s give you the lowdown on the NMAT exam. It’s got 108 multiple-choice questions divided equally into three sections. Each section has the same number of questions and marks. The only unique factor is the time. There’s a unique time limit for each one. You have to finish all the questions in a section within the time given. Does NMAT have negative marking?

Unlike most other entrance exams, your hard-earned marks are untouched by any deductions resulting from negative markings. NMAT exam is free of negative markings. So stay stress-free. Yet, it tends to raise the competition bar, so keep that in mind. 

How long is the NMAT exam?

Now, while coming to how long a NMAT test is, let's just tell you that NMAT will be conducted as a computer-based test. Hence, most of the candidates would complete it within the first hour of examination. But we understand! You might be one among those who like taking more time. So, don't freak out. The candidates need to answer 108 questions in 120 minutes, which means you still have more time. Also, it has to be considered that some areas are allotted more time whereas some have comparatively less time. So, you would still have to be section-specific when considering the timing. 

What are the total number of questions in NMAT?

NMAT exam is a computer-based exam, and requires test-takes to answer 108 questions. As we did mention, in the exam, you’ll have a dramatic encounter with three prime section that are making the NMAT syllabus. Each of these sections have the same 36 questions individually, making a total of 108 overall questions. 

What are the marks per question in NMAT?

If you are a novice about the NMAT test, let’s tell you that this is a computer-based test, and the questions that come to you are based on the previously asked ones. Each question is for three marks, so for every correct answer, you will get +3. Now, the cream of it—no negative marking for the wrong answers, unlike the other MBA tests.

The NMAT 2024 exam pattern follows a computer-based testing format with three sections:

  • Logical Reasoning (36 Questions, 40 Minutes)
