IIM Rohtak will lead the Common Admission Process (CAP) for admissions into the 9 IIMs for the academic session 2018-20. For Common Admission Process (CAP) 2018 9 IIMs out of 13 IIMs have come on board to take part in the process.The participating IIMs are IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Rohtak, IIM Sambalpur, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Trichy and IIM Udaipur.

IIM Rohtak successfully conducted the CAP for 9 IIMs last year and this year also it has been confided with the responsibility to conduct the Common Admission Process.
WAT and PI
The Common Admission Process will start after CAT 2017 results are declared. It involves short-listing of candidates based on CAT percentile and followed by Written Ability Test (WAT), and Personal Interview (PI). The candidates are evaluated on their writing skills in the Written Ability Test (WAT) by experts. The second part of the process is PI for which WAT candidates will have to appear before a panel for Personal Interview.
Shortlisting of Candidates
IIM Rohtak will begin the WAT and PI rounds for shortlisted candidates in mid-February and will continue the process until early March. The exact dates of WAT and PI will be put in public domain after the CAT results are out, said an IIM Rohtak official. According to last year data, 2.3 Lakh applicants appeared for CAT out of which approximately 3250 were selected for various IIMs.
The CAP 2018 will be conducted in all the major cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Chennai. A total number of 2.31 Lakh candidates registered this year for CAT out of which only 3300 will get into the IIMs in 2018.
The CAP conducting body is the eighth IIM set up by Ministry of HRD, Government of India, IIM Rohtak is the only IIM in the Delhi / NCR region.
