Read WAT topic:  Start with the end in mind

Stephen Richards Covey wrote a book called “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” where he mentioned that the second habit of highly effective people is that they always begin with the end in mind.

One question that we ought to ask ourselves is “Where do I see myself in the next ten years?” And we should ensure that our actions and decisions help us reach our long term goals. If we are unsure of where we are going or our destination, it is highly unlikely that we will reach our destination.

In the last few years, we have seen concerned citizens of India and honest politicians working hard to end corruption in India. Corruption is widespread and it is definitely not easy to eradicate it. However, thanks to their clear vision, we are one step closer to being a corrupt-free nation. In 2011, Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal managed to upload the 23rd version of the Jan Lokpal Bill draft and on February 3, 2014, the Delhi Cabinet cleared the draft Jan Lokpal Bill. And today, the Aam Aadmi Party is planning to pass this Bill in a special session at the Indira Gandhi Stadium.

The reason why Arvind Kejriwal and his team have been successful so far is because they started with the end in mind. Their goal was to free India of corruption and their actions thus far have helped them in coming close to their goal.

Why do teachers ask students “What do you want to be when you grow up?” It is because they want to help students understand their goals so that they work towards their goals and fulfill their dreams.

William Clement Stone, a businessman, philanthropist and an author, once said, “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve”. So, always think about your long term goals and your actions will help you achieve your dreams.
