Since post MBA entrance exams, most of IIMs and Top MBA Institutes are conducting WAT ( Written Abiity Test ) to check language skills which can't be developed overnight hence, practice matters a lot.
Please read following topic on WAT and develop your own skills : All The World Is A Laboratory To The Inquiring Mind
The more you want to know, the more there is to know. The starting point for all inventions and discoveries in this world is curiosity, the desire to know, to inquire. In this pursuit of knowledge, the world itself turns into a big laboratory, churning out new ideas, exploring and testing them, ultimately leading to fulfilment.
Man exists as part of this collective called the world. Whatever he thinks, does, says, hears, observes is influenced by the world and, in turn, influences the world. Therefore, people who are inquisitive in nature, embrace the world, the cosmos in its entirety. They thrive on the vastness of this world, which provides answers to all their nagging doubts, unanswered questions, and inquisitiveness. The world incorporates all of nature’s mysteries and rewards the ones who persevere in their quest to unlock those mysteries.
An ordinary man is caught up in the daily, mundane rigmarole of life. He restricts his life to fulfilling his needs and avoids taking flights of fancy. For such a man, having a well-planned and structured life are goals he aspires towards. He will happily settle into his comfort zone and stay away from anything that pushes him out of his comfort zone. On the other hand, an inquiring mind will look for ways to expand its horizons, and go beyond the mundane, to challenge itself with newer prospects and stay invested in this pursuit. Such a man sets no limits for himself, remains spirited and open to all that life has in store for him.
There is a difference between an inquisitive person and a person with a closed mind. For a curious mind, the world will open its arms and dazzle him with unknown hidden things. For a closed mind, the world will only comprise of his own immediate surroundings.
In many ways, an inquisitive person is a seeker and the world conspires to connect him with what he seeks, provided he has the determination, patience and strong will power to realise his goals. For instance, people who love traveling, have a desire to explore a different place and culture, face many challenges in their journey yet, find the experience immensely gratifying.
In today’s day and age, with the comfort of technology, the world has truly become a global village which is easily accessible. This has brought the abundant resources of the world to the doors of an inquisitive person, opening up the possibilities. All that is required is a healthy appetite for knowledge. An example of this is the growth of social media, where anything you write can be accessed by a person in a different country in a different continent, who can then reply, leading to a meaningful sharing of perspectives. The recent launch of SpaceX’s Tesla roadster in space is another example of the limitless potential of inquisitiveness.
The world has truly become a laboratory, giving wings to curiosity. It engages with and rewards people who have the spirit of inquiry and the thirst to know more.
