CMAT 2019 Exam Analysis Section-wise (Slot-1 and Slot-2)

The CMAT 2019 exam was successfully conducted in two slots across 64 test cities in India.

• CMAT 2019 Morning Shift (Slot-1) – 9:30 pm to 12:30 pm
• CMAT 2019 Afternoon Shift (Slot-2) – 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm

Also, due to heavy snowfall and landslide, the CMAT 2019 exam for 187 students from Kashmir region has been rescheduled to 29^th January 2019, 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Read details here.

CMAT 2019 Exam Key Highlights

• The CMAT 2019 exam was conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) in two different slots
• There were no technical glitches reported at any of the 64 NTA CMAT 2019 exam city centers
• The slot-1 was slightly tougher than the slot-2 of the CMAT 2019 exam
• The CMAT 2019 exam was on predictable lines
• The overall difficulty of CMAT 2019 exam was lower than CMAT 2018 exam
• There were 25 questions in each of the four sections
• The total number of questions were 100, and the maximum marks were 400
• There was negative marking of -1 mark for every incorrect answer and +4 for every correct answer.

CMAT 2019 Quantitative Technique and Data Interpretation

Total Questions: 25

Ideal Time: 50 minutes

Good Attempts: 20 to 22

Accuracy: 85 to 90%

Difficulty Level: Easy to Moderate

Sectional Breakup

• There were 12 to 13 questions that were quick and easy to solve
• 6 to 7 questions under functions, geometry, and algebra were moderate
• Around 12% of questions were tough and time consuming
• The DI questions were not set-based.

CMAT 2019 Language Comprehension

Total Questions: 25

Ideal Time: 45 minutes

Good Attempts: 18 to 20

Accuracy: 85 to 90%

Difficulty Level: Easy to Moderate

Sectional Breakup

• There were 4 RC passages. One passage was tough and had 6 questions. The remaining 3 passages had 3 questions each
• 8 out of 10 verbal questions were easy to medium.

CMAT 2019 Logical Reasoning

Total Questions: 25

Ideal Time: 60 minutes

Good Attempts: 21 to 22

Accuracy: 85 to 90%

Difficulty Level: Moderate

Sectional Breakup

• All the questions in the LR section were single questions and not set-based
• The questions were time consuming but easier as compared to CMAT 2018

CMAT 2019 General Awareness

Total Questions: 25

Ideal Time: 10 minutes

Good Attempts: 12 to 15

Accuracy: 85 to 90%

Difficulty Level: Moderate

Sectional Breakup

• Around 65% questions were related to national issues and events, and remaining questions were a mix of international and miscellaneous events
• Nearly 10 questions were each easy and moderate, and only 4 to 5 questions were tough
