There was a session on Gandhiji by a member of the Gandhi Heritage Sites Mission of the Government of India, Prof. Tridip Suhrud, who is also the Chairperson of MICA’s Governing Council. The session was followed by a Garba night with bonfire. A professional folk dance instructor jointly with MICA students facilitated the group on the traditional dance form of Gujarat followed by a ravishing dinner at MICA. Prior to visiting MICA and Ahmedabad, it had already visited Delhi and Jaipur.
Dr. Preeti Shroff, Dean, MICA said: “MICA was honored to host the group of Chinese Entrepreneurs in areas of design, art, food, music, technology and digital platforms. They have been visiting historic places, and interacting with Indian culture and heritage entrepreneurs in collaboration with MICA. It is a special experience to see how Chinese and Indian people across cultures are connecting seamlessly to learn more about each other’s’ civilization, culture, history, education and entrepreneurship. The group particularly enjoyed the architecture of old city of Ahmedabad, and the conversations with Shri. B V Doshi, Shri Abhay Mangaldas (MICA’s Governing Council member) and Prof. Tridip Suhrud. The first evening in Ahmedabad ended with learning the folk dance and celebrating the shared heritage and humanity in Asia! MICA will strengthen Students’ Placements, International Immersions and Faculty research collaborations with the corporate and the academic institutions in China”
Ms. Yan Han, Chairperson, Topline International said “Our trip to Ahmedabad has been amazing. We take back with us qualities of humility and bravery that Ahmedabad stands for. The day has been amazing and we got to learn from the masters. We had a one on one session on heritage with Shri Abhay Mangaldas, Heritage Entrepreneur and MICA Board member. We had the privilege of meeting Shri BV Doshi and understanding his principles of life and design. We also had an enriching session with Prof. Tridip Suhrud, foremost scholar on Gandhi. It has been an enriching experience for us and we are deeply moved.”
