MICAVaani team visited a government school in Telav called Telav Sarvajanik Vidyalaya to engage with the children through various in-house and outdoor activities. Since Children’s Day fell during the Diwali Vacation of students, the team celebrated it today. This was an effort to generate awareness among the students about the importance of personality development and outdoor sports apart from the daily teaching curriculum.

The day started with the team involving students of 9th and 10th standard in elocution and quiz activities respectively. The topics of elocution varied across various contemporary topics like “If I were the Prime Minister of India, what are the changes that I would make”, “Pros and Cons of Facebook”, “Girls advancing forward in various fields” etc. The quiz had various questions from politics, bollywood, art and culture which were attempted enthusiastically by the children.

Also, the students asked questions about the MICAVaani studio and recollected their last visit to the studio during the flagship event Apno Manch. In addition to this, when the team asked the students about their favourite show, students promptly responded with “Bum Bum Bole”, which is a children’s show by MICAVaani that discusses stories, poems and good manners. This show is aired on 90.4 FM every Friday from 8-10 pm.

After the break, students were divided into batches and played outdoor sports like dodge ball and participated in a mehndi and drawing competition wherein the students showcased their exceptional talent through their creative designs and beautiful colour combinations.

Further, talking to the school principle Mr. Bharat Patel and teacher, Dr. Bimalda Bhavsar, MICAVaani tried to figure out the problems faced by the students which will be mitigated by a specially curated curriculum known as “Telav Teaching Project”, which will be designed and taught by MICAVaani and MICA students, and will include subjects like personality development, spoken english, mathematics, music, painting etc. and will span for over 2 months starting from January.

Known for spreading social messages and awareness on critical issues including sanitation, hygiene, and education, MICAVaani 90.4 FM enjoys immense popularity and listenership among children in the villages surrounding MICA.
