Prof. Varsha Jain awarded Outstanding Management Researcher Award

Prof. Varsha Jain of MICA, Ahmedabad was awarded the AIMS-IRMA Outstanding Management Researcher Award in 14^th AIMS International Conference.

1. How MICA has helped me in evolving as a scholar?

Special and Big Thank you to MICA as this award actually belongs to them  (i could get this award because of MICA)

Special thanks to the president, Mr. Madhukar Kamath  and the dean , Dr. Preeti Shroff for their consistent help and support in research . They are the major stakeholder of the award along with MICA.

I am overwhelmed with the help and support that MICA has provided at every stage of my research journey. MICA provided all the feasible resources specifically international collaborations that could facilitate the quality and quantity of research projects. I am genuinely thankful to MICA for making this happen specially all my bosses who had complete trust and faith on me. I could achieve this milestone only because MICA was always supporting me as a strong pillar. MICA provided the opportunity to conduct research and share the work at the premier and global platforms. Additionally, my colleagues, students and PhD scholars of MICA who were my co-authors in multiple publications. They worked very hard with me.

2.  What this award means to me?

After winning young researcher award and woman management researcher award, this award adds more value to my scholarly accomplishment. We compete with all the top scholars  and professors including IIMs in India to win this award (As this a national level award). It is an honor that after competing with all these professors and scholars if i won the award. This award means a lot for me as i diligently invest around 10 hours on regular bases on scholarship and publications. This is the result of  consistent hard work which i have undertaken since 8.5 years (post PhD). It is very challenging as a scholar to manage quality and quantity in research projects. When these efforts are appreciated and recognized in our country, it makes me blissful. I feel motivated and inspired. I am delighted that in India scholars are appreciated for their diligent work.

 I feel that that awards affects me at the five levels; individual , professional ,  scholarly  societal and family. I believe as an individual it motivates me to scale up the research at the next level (from India to Asia and then eventually at global level), at professional level it inspires me to work more and achieve global milestones and appreciations in research, as a scholar it motivates other emerging scholars such my PhD scholars to work hard in research, society also understand the importance of research and develop respect for the scholars and researchers, family and friends are always helping me personally so that i can devote long hours to work especially my seven year old son already got inspired by my previous two gold medals in research and he won a gold medal at the age of six in the Olympiad exam in English subject.
