IIM Calcutta is the Mentor institute of IIM Bodh Gaya (IIM Bihar)
IIM Bihar is expected to start its first academic session for the 2 year Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP) in August 2015
Admission Policy for the PGP Batch (2015-17)
Stage I: Candidates Eligible for PGP 2015-17
Stage 1 short-listing comprises candidates achieving the minimum section-wise and overall percentile in CAT 2014 as per Table 1 below:
Table 1: Minimum Percentile for Eligibility
|Category||Section – I(QA + DI)||Section – II(VA + LR)||Overall|
Candidates securing the above mentioned minimum percentile in each category in CAT 2014 will only be considered for next stage of the admission process.
Stage II: Personal Interview (PI) and Written Aptitude Test (WAT)
The candidates satisfying both the conditions mentioned below would be considered in Stage II.
a. Candidates who have reconfirmed their interest for admission to PGP 2015-17 of IIM Bodh-Gaya by June 28, 2015.
b. Candidates who are eligible based on Table 1 above.
Please note that PI scores and WAT scores of most of the candidates are already available with IIM Bodh-Gaya (for the candidates interviewed by some other IIMs). These candidates would NOT be interviewed again. Their PI and WAT scores would be used as an input to the admission process of IIM Bodh Gaya.
For the candidates whose PI and WAT scores are not available with IIM Bodh Gaya, these candidates would be called for PI and WAT at IIM Calcutta. These candidates would receive an email invitation for appearing in PI and WAT.
Stage III: Calculation of Composite Scores for Final Selection for PGP 2015-17
The Composite Score is calculated on the basis of CAT 2014 score, WAT score, PI score, Work Experience, Class X and Class XII aggregate percentages, and gender diversity factor.
A candidate’s final score for selection is calculated on the basis of Table 2. Table 2 indicates the criteria and their weights to be used for the final selection for PGP 2015-17.
Table 2: Criteria and weights for final selection for PGP 2015-17.
|Criterion||Weights||Method of Calculation|
|CAT 2014 Score||35||(A / B) x 35|
|Personal Interview (PI)||35|
|Writing Ability Test (WAT)||10|
|Work Experience||08||Refer Table 3|
|Class X marks||05||Refer Table 4|
|Class XII marks||05||Refer Table 4|
|Gender Diversity Factor||02||To ensure gender diversity, 2 points will be awarded to female candidates only.|
A = Candidate’s total CAT 2014 score | B = Maximum CAT 2014 Score
For work experience, a maximum of Eight points will be awarded depending on the length of service as on May 31, 2015 (Please refer Table 3). Only managerial work experience after graduation will be considered. Training/Project work/work done as an integral part of curricular requirement will not be considered.
Table 3: Points for work experience in completed months
|Months||<6||6 to 9||10 to 12||13 to 15||16 to 18||19 to 21||22 to 24||25 to 27||28 to 30||31 to 36||37 to 39||40 to 42||>= 43|
Method of allotting points for Class X and Class XII percentages of marks based on aggregate scores is given in Table 4 below:
Table 4: Points for Class X and Class XII marks*
|Class X Marks (in %)||Points||Class XII Marks (in %)||Points|
|≥ 76 and < 81||4||≥ 76 and < 81||4|
|≥ 71 and < 76||3||≥ 71 and < 76||3|
|≥ 66 and < 71||2||≥ 66 and < 71||2|
|≥ 60 and < 66||1||≥ 60 and < 66||1|
|< 60||0||< 60||0|
*(For computing the percentage of marks obtained in Class X and Class XII, the aggregate marks of all subjects that appear in the mark sheet/grade sheet would be considered irrespective of whether the Board considers them for calculation of percentage).
The final selection list will be based on merit in each category; minimum qualification on the above mentioned criteria would not automatically qualify the candidate for admission into IIM Bodh Gaya.
