One of the newest entrants to the IIM club, IIM Nagpur began its journey in 2015 with the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management. The institute offers all the perks, which come along with the IIM tag and also the advantage of having flexibility and dynamism that a new institute has.
Who can apply?
IIM Nagpur considers Domestic Candidates for admission to the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management. Only an Indian national can apply to IIM Nagpur for admission. However, Indian nationals who meet certain criteria are eligible to apply under overseas applicant pool.
IIM Nagpur Admission Criteria
The admission process at IIM Nagpur factors in the candidate’s Past Academic Performance (PAP), Work Experience (WE) and performance in Common Admission Test (CAT) 2018. Besides this, the candidate’s performance in Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) is also taken into account before the preparation of the final merit list. The candidates applying for PGP in Management at IIM Nagpur must meet the following criteria:

2. Only those candidates who meet the CAT 2018 requirements and have reaffirmed their interest, shall be considered for the next stage of the admission process. The following parameters are considered for election in this stage:

Past Academic Performance (PAP)
A candidate’s academic performance in 10th and 12th standards, Graduation degree and so on is evaluated. The eligible candidates will be assigned rating scores of ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’ based on the percentage of marks in 10th, 12th and Graduation.

The PAP score of a candidates is calculated as follows:
PAP= (0.25xA+0.35xB+0.40xC)
- Work Experience (WE)
A candidate’s work experience (only full time) is considered for admission. For the work experience of completed months x (as on July 31, 2018), the WE score assigned to the candidate is as follows:
WE=0 if x<6
= 4 if 6<=x<18
= 6 if 18<=x<24
= 8 if 24<=x<30
=10 if 30<=x<36
= 4 if x>=36

Diversity (Di)
The candidate’s gender and graduation degree will also be taken into account.
Gender- The candidate will be awarded marks according to their gender (0 for male, 5 for female, and 5 for transgender candidates) and 5 points for bachelor’s degree.
Following this, a comprehensive score (CS) will be calculated:
CS= 0.35 x (CAT Total Score/Maximum CAT Total Score x 10) + 0.35 x (PAP Score)+ 0.2 x (WE Score) + 0.1 x (Di Score)
Based on the CS score, a shortlist will be prepared. The candidates whose name figures in the shortlist will have to submit a detailed application, containing their details to be considered for the next step of the admission process.
In the final stage, Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) scores will be considered. The Final Score (FS) of the candidates will be calculated as follows:
FS= 0.35 x (PI Score) + 0.05 x (WAT Score) + 0.20 x (CAT Score) + 0.20 x (PAP Score) + 0.20 x (WE Score)
Through this process, the ranks of the candidates will be computed separately for each category and the selected candidates will receive provisional admission.
