Brief summary of exams which will be conducted in the end of 2016 and early 2017 is being given below for understanding and creating an exam tempo.

CAT 2016

Common Admission Test (CAT) is a competitive entrance exam conducted for admission to Postgraduate Business Administration Programme  and other programs in various IIT, IIM, NITs and other private MBA institutes.

Admission to the two year MBA programmes in IIMs are on merit, based on a rigorous selection process comprising of Group Discussions, Written Ability Test, Personal Interview and scores in the Common Admission Test which is commonly known as CAT. 

CAT Exam will be conducted in End of November (Tentative Date – 27th November 2016)

Exam Fees

MAT 2016

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardised test being administered since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programmes. Any B-School - national or international - can consider MAT Score as an admission input based on the Score Cards issued to the candidates.

MAT is conducted by AIMA 4 times in a year i.e. in the month of MAY, September, December and February on the 1st Sunday of the Month. 

MAT Exam is on 1st May 2016

IIFT 2016

Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) will conduct its written examination in November 2016 for admission to its MBA-IB (MBA in International Business) programme 2017-19 at IIFT Delhi & Kolkata. The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was set up in 1963 by the Government of India as an autonomous organisation to help professionalise the country's foreign trade management and increase exports by developing human resources, analysing and disseminating data and conducting research.

IIFT Exam will be conducted in November

CMAT 2017

Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a national level entrance examination conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) every year as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The CMAT is a three hour computer based online test which is conducted in a single session to evaluate the candidate’s ability across various segments like Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. This test facilitates Institutions to select suitable graduate candidates for admission in all Management programs. The CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges.

CAT Exam will be conducted in January 2017 (Tentative Date – 15th January 2017)

The fee is Rs.1400 + Bank charges as applicable for General / OBC candidates. If you belong to the SC/ST/PD (Physically disabled) category then you need to pay a discounted fee of Rs.700 + Bank charges as applicable

XAT 2017

XAT or Xavier Aptitude Test is the entrance exam organized by Xavier Labour Relation Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur. However, it is conducted by the Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI) for admission in XLRI and many other top tier management institutes of India. XLRI application has been embedded with XAT application. Candidates applying to XLRI do not have to fill up two separate forms. It is considered to be one of the toughest MBA entrance exams in India that calls for complete dedication and awareness.

XAT Exam will be in January 2017 (Tentative Exam Date 1st January 2017)

Marking Scheme

In XAT-2017 students have a choice of not attempting 13 questions. Beyond this, any unattempted question will carry the negative mark of 0.05. There would also be negative marking of 0.25 marks for any wrong answer. There will be no Negative Marking in Part B i.e GK and Essay.

Exam Fees

Candidates only interested in XAT but not in XLRI need to pay a fee of Rs. 1500/-(Rupees Fifteen Hundred only). Candidates interested in XLRI programme(s) needs to pay an additional fee of Rs.250/- each.

SNAP 2016

Since 2007, candidates aspiring to join MBA programs offered by institutes of Symbiosis International University have to take the common, mandatory Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test. A candidate has to register for SNAP Test & then register with the institutes offering his/ her choice of program by paying separate institution registration fees. If shortlisted, he/she would then attend the GE-PIWAT process conducted by each of these institutes.
