Developing Glocal Masters of Foreign Trade The ‘A to F’ That IIFT Provides

This is to inform all the aspirants of full time MBA (International Business) and MBA (Business Analytics) Programmes that for the academic year 2024, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade will accept CAT 2023 Score.

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade was established in Delhi 1963 with the sole purpose of being an aid to the Government of India in professionalising India’s foreign trade and management. By the 1990’s IIFT started to evolve as business school and by 2002 it was conferred the status of Deemed University.

 

In 2015, it was accredited by NAAC with Grade A.In the last three decades IIFT has become a pioneer in providing education, training, research and consultancy in international business, trade and finance. In 2006 sprang another campus of IIFT in Kolkata.

B – Beautiful Campuses

IIFT has 2 campuses located in the national and the cultural capital of India – Delhi & Kolkata. Both the campuses are strategically located surrounded by lush green exteriors and world class amenities in the interiors.

 

Delhi Campus

1. Campus spreads over 6.5 acres located in Qutub Institutional Area.
2. There are 2 academic and 2 residential blocks.
3. The architecture of the building is quite beautiful and is called the ‘eye of the universe’.
4. Apart from air conditioned lecture halls and a 450 seater auditorium there is a fully automated Foreign Trade Library with a collection of 100,000 resources in the form of books, CDs and periodicals. The library also has access to Bloomberg database.
5. The computer lab is operative 24x7 with 300 desktops.
6. IIFT Delhi has its own Data Centre with virtualised server environment, unified storage, and web and email servers.

 

Kolkata Campus

1. Campus spreads over 7 acres located in Madurdaha area.
2. There is one academic, one admin and two residential blocks in the campus.
3. Architecturally artistic buildings and beautiful blooms in the gardens are a treat for the students, staff and visitors.
4. The lecture halls and auditorium with 500 seating capacity are air conditioned.
5. The rooms have modern audio visual aids and Wi-Fi facilities.
6. There is a MDP centre, indoor games and sports ground and computer centre.

 

 

C – Corporate Interface & Port Visit

One of the main motives of IIFT has been to produce industry ready personnel through their extensive programme and by bridging the industry – academia gap. They provide excellent opportunities to its students to interact with industry leaders and experts. Getting to have a firsthand interaction with senior leaders and executives gives the students a chance to enhance their learning curve by understanding their triumphs and challenges.

 

An excellent opportunity that IIFT provides its students is the visit to various port towns both in India and abroad. This gives them the unique opportunity to learn about the port operations, customs procedures and role of shipping and trading companies.

 

D – Diverse Programmes

The flagship programme offered at IIFT is the two-year MBA (International Business) at New Delhi and Kolkata. The programme covers everything you need to know about foreign trade and international business and finance. Apart from this Executive; Certificate and Post Doctoral courses are also offered.

 

E – Evaluative Admission Procedure

 

In order to get into MBA (IB) the flagship programme at IIFT, candidates needs to go through an evaluative and extensive admission process. The procedure is:

 

 

IIFT 2022 Entrance Test

• The exam is in December 2021, 10 am – 12 Noon.
• The last date to register for the exam in September 2021.
• The application fee is INR 1,650 (INR 825 for SC/ST/PWD candidates).
• The admit card is available starting in November 2021.

Writing Skills Test & Group Discussion

• Candidates who clear the IIFT 2022 cutoff are called for writing skills test and group discussion.
• Both rounds take place on the same day.

Personal Interview

• Final round is the personal interview round.
• Based on all the 4 rounds candidates are selected and the final merit list is released.

 

F- Faculty Par Excellence

 

IIFT has an interesting mix of regular and visiting faculty. All the professors and assistant professors come with exquisite experience and specialised qualifications. The various faculty members are experts in the field of Economics, Finance, Trade, IT, Marketing, Operations, Strategy/OB-HR and CRIT.
