MICA, Ahmedabad, India’s premier Business Management institute focusing on Strategic Marketing and Communication, has opened the applications for the phase II of its admission process of its 2019-21 batch of the flagship Post Graduate Diploma in Management-Communications (PGDM-C).
Applicants who wish to participate in the admission process have to appear for an entrance exam conducted by the institute, known as MICAT, besides having appeared in any one of the tests of CAT 2018, XAT 2018 or GMAT (2017 onwards). MICAT is conducted twice. MICAT-1 was held on 1st December and applications have now been opened for MICAT-2 and will be closed on January 30th, 2019. Applicants can appear in either or both MICAT exams and the higher of the 2 scores is taken.
Final Composite scores will be based on:
CAT/XAT/GMAT: 20%
MICAT: 30% (either MICAT-1 or MICAT-2 (whichever is higher if both are taken)
GE: 20%
PI: 30%
As quoted by the Admissions Chair and Associate Professor of MICA, Ruchi Tewari, “MICAT is a robust, validated test which assesses both creative and analytical abilities of applicants, thus making it different from all other tests. The exam is conducted twice a year in over 48 cities in the country.”
MICAT-II will be conducted on February 9, 2019. MICAT – II will now be held in Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Ajmer, Aligarh, Allahabad, Bareilly, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Delhi, Dhanbad, Faridabad, Gandhinagar (Gujarat), Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Gwalior, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jamshedpur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Meerut, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai, Muzaffarnagar, Nagpur, Noida, Panjim, Patna, Pune, Raipur, Rajkot, Ranchi, Surat, Trivandrum, Udaipur, Vadodara, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam.
MICAT is a computer based test, there are three parts to the exam, namely the psychometric section, a descriptive section and an aptitude section which includes objective questions from Verbal ability, Quantitative ability, General Awareness and Divergent & Convergent thinking. MICAT-I and MICAT-II are independent of each other and the best score out of the two exams will be chosen for the admissions merit list.
