MICA, established in 1991, is a top-rated institute offering PGDM / PGDM-C, equivalent to an MBA with specializations in Advertising & Brand Management, Marketing Analytics, Digital Communication Management and Media & Entertainment Management. For admission into the PGDM / PGDM-C program of MICA, students have to take the MICAT Exam along with any one of the other MBA entrance tests (CAT, XAT, GMAT).
MICA conducts MICAT its own entrance test MICAT. MICAT is a Computer Based Test (CBT) and will be conducted twice in over 48 cities across the country.

All candidates are assessed on MICAT, which consists of 3 sections
- Section 1: Psychometric Test
- Section 2: (as 4 sub-sections) - Divergent and Convergent Thinking; Verbal ability, Quantitative ability and Data Interpretation and General awareness;
- Section 3: Descriptive Test
Major Changes Introduced in Exam
- Significant Increase in the number of questions in Psychometric Test:
- In 2018 and 2019, the section had 36 and 27 questions respectively to be answered in 25 minutes.
- In MICAT 2020, 150 questions in 30 minutes.
- In MICAT 2021, 150 questions were asked in 30 minutes.
- Time of descriptive test reduced to 25 minutes for 4 questions.
- Previusly, it was 30-35 minutes

- 1 minute break between different sections
- Navigation between sections not allowed
- Section 2 carried 1 mark per question. 0.25 for each incorrect response
- No negative marks for the Psychometric Test & Descriptive Test
- Psychometric Test is compulsory and a qualifying test. Earlier, it was even compulsory to attempt all the questions in this section. However the instructions are now changed to: No marks would be given for an un-answered question in the Psychometric Test.
