MICA, Ahmedabad, India's premier institute for Strategic Marketing and Communication, has strengthened its global connect and reach with the international global platform TED.com releasing one of its TEDxMICA talks as a TED talk. This is the first TEDxMICA talk in seven years to be selected and featured as a TED talk.
TEDx events are independent of TED, and only a select few talks with exceptional and high-quality content are published as TED talks.
On April 12, 2021, TED released the talk of Ms. Kalika Bali, Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research India, titled 'The giant leaps in language and technology - and who's left behind’, on their website.
In her talk, computational linguist Ms. Kalika Bali speaks of how innovative methodologies can be used to create language and speech technology systems that can positively impact the under-served language communities around the globe. In this perspective-shifting talk, she outlines what happens when a language is omitted from the digital landscape - and what can be gained when communities keep pace with the future.
