MICA recently hosted a delegation of 12 senior officials from the Directorate of Information & Public Relations, Government of Arunachal Pradesh as a part of a capacity Strengthening Programme on Communication & Information Management July & August2018. The training was inaugurated by renowned environmentalist Shri Kartikeya Sarabhai, (Founder & Director, CEE, Ahmedabad) along with Prof. Shailendra Raj Mehta (President & Director, MICA), Prof. Preeti Shroff (Dean, MICA), Prof. Manisha Pathak-Shelat (Chair, CDMC, MICA) & Prof. Arbind Sinha (Advisor, CDMC). The Arunachal Pradesh team led by Shri Obang Tayeng (Director of Information, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh) consisted of public relations officials from various districts of Arunachal Pradesh.
As part of the program an enriching interaction was hosted at Gandhinagar in the presence of Shri. Ashwani Kumar (Secretary, Department of Information & Broadcasting, Gujarat) along with Shri. Ashok Kalaria (Director of Information, Govt. of Gujarat) in Gujarat. A special visit was hosted at the Gandhinagar Campus of Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geo-Informatics (BISAG) by Shri T. P Singh (Director, BISAG).
The training focused on enhancing the communication effectiveness of the officers and efficient dissemination of information in Arunachal Pradesh with a special focus on its geographic and cultural challenges. The training modules have been designed to help the participants in understanding the Usage of Information in both, the traditional and digital media.
The expert faculty team leading the programme comprised of Prof. Manisha Pathak-Shelat, Prof. Preeti Shroff, Prof. Arbind Sinha, Prof. Pravin Mishra, Prof. Santosh Patra, Prof. Darshan Trivedi, Mr. Kshitij Joshi, Mr. Shyam Parekh, Ms. Jahnavi Contractor, Ms. Vibha Gupta and others.

The office of Directorate of Information, Public Relations and Printings is responsible for the publicity of state government’s plans and programmes. They also highlight the progress achieved in the implementation of these plans and programmes.
