Students of MICA, Ahmedabad, India’s premier institute for Strategic Marketing and Communications, emerged as national winners at PepsiCo Date To Do More (DTDM) Challenge 2020, an international innovation competition. In an intense power-packed finale held virtually, the Team Rajdhani Express, comprising second-year MICA students Komal Khanduja and Taranjot Kaur, emerged victorious, battling it out against NMIMS Mumbai, SP Jain, IMT Ghaziabad, and IIFT Delhi.
The students will now represent India in AMESA DTDM 2020 sector finale competing with national winners from Egypt. The winning team will get the opportunity to showcase their innovative idea along with winning teams from Europe and Latam sectors to Ramon Laguarta, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, PepsiCo, and the PepsiCo global leadership team.
Pepsico DTDM Challenge 2020 witnessed 3800 registrations from top B-Schools in India. Students across the country identified and shared their idea on the theme ‘A disruptive trend expected in the food and beverage industry.’
Sharing their experiences, MICA students Komal Khanduja and Taranjot Kaur said, “The FMCG industry has been experiencing several changes wherein the consumers are now opting for different products at affordable price points. These trends made us brainstorm on several ideas before finalizing the one that won us the award. We are glad that our efforts paid off. We look forward to competing with the winners from Egypt at the sector finale”.
The team from MICA, Ahmedabad, has been awarded a job offer to kickstart their career with PepsiCo.
The judges’ panel included Mr. Lulu Raghavan, Managing Director, Landor, Mr. Ahmed ElSheikh, President, PepsiCo India, Ms. Pavitra Singh, CHRO, PepsiCo India, and Mr. Aditya Sinha, Sr. Director and Head - Sales, PepsiCo India.
