TISSNET Selection Procedure
The admission process of TISSNET does not end with the results of the entrance exam. All candidates who qualify the TISSNET entrance exam are invited to appear in further rounds to be held in TISS campuses. The weightage given to the three components of the admission process is as follows:
Round |
Weightage |
Written Test |
40 percent (100 marks) |
Pre Interview Test/GD |
30 percent (50 marks) |
Personal Interview |
30 percent (75 marks) |
Total |
100 percent (225 marks) |
The combined score of these rounds is used to shortlist candidates for the final admission.
In case of a tie in TISSNET Results, the following process is followed:
- Personal Interview (PI) marks will be compared and the candidate with higher marks will be considered
- If PI marks are same, the Pre Interview Test (PIT) marks will be considered and the candidate getting higher marks in the PIT will be considered
- IF PIT marks are also same, then, the TISSNET marks will be considered and the candidate getting higher marks in TISSNET entrance exam will be considered
- If TISSNET marks are also same, the candidate with the higher age will be given preference
Waiting List
Once the admission process is complete, students give a list of their programme preference and subsequently, a waiting list is prepared for those candidates who have not got admission in the programme as per their first preference.
- Candidates who got admission into a programme that was their second preference will be put into the waiting list of the programme of first preference only
- Candidates who got admission into a programme that was their third preference will be put into the waiting list of the programme of first and second preference both
- If a candidate gets admission in two programmes at the same time, the higher preference will prevail
Clearly, there is a lengthy process that candidates who qualify TISSNET have to go through before making it to the final merit list and getting admission. The process begins once the TISSNET Results are declared and candidates know whether they have qualified the exam or not.
