Shri Mahendra Nath was a monarch of whatever he surveyed. He was a great patriot, an eminent industrialist and educationist, a great visionary, a great institution builder and above all, a “karma yogi”.

A light has gone out of our lives, leaving behind a void and a lot of memories. Born in a humble middle class family, Shri Mahendra Nath learnt that honesty and hard work lead to success. Very early in his life, through the example of his father who was a medical practitioner and follower of Swami DayanandSaraswati, he imbibed the virtues of strong determination, tenacity, hard work and care for the weaker sections of the society.

Shri Mahendra Nath created a trust named “Dr K. Nath Public Trust” which created and nurtured various institutions of vocational, professional and higher learning. The trust has been running libraries and helps the poor students to undertake higher education at a large number of institutions including Indian Institutes of Technology and Indian Institutes of Management. The trust also established Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Ghaziabad under the aegis of Lajpat Rai Educational Society in the year 1980 with the objective to provide high quality management education in India. Prof. Asish K Bhattacharyya

Prof. Asish K Bhattacharyya has spent 20 years of his career in industry (1973-1993) and 25 years in academia. He has research interest in the area of corporate financial reporting, management accounting and corporate governance.

Prof Bhattacharyya’s last job in industry was as Financial Controller (Transformer Division) of GEC Alstom Limited. He worked as Professor in Indian Institute of Corporate affairs (Ministry of Corporate Affairs) (2012-2016), Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (1999 – 2010), and, S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research Mumbai (1993-96). He has also worked as the Director of the International Management Institute (IMI), Kolkata (2010-12) and as the Technical Director in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (1998-99).

Prof. Bhattacharyya earned doctorate degree from the University of Allahabad. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and a Fellow of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. He is a Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA, UK). He served as a member of several national bodies including National Advisory Committee on Accounting Standards (NACAS), SEBI Committee on Disclosures and Accounting Standards (SCODA), Standing Committee on Accounting Issues of IRDAI and Cost Accounting Standards Board. Currently, he is a Member of Technical Committee- R & D Division, Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Accounting Standards Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Having a decade of Board level experience as an Independent Director, Prof. Bhattacharyya is a regular columnist with the Business Standard for eleven years. He writes in the areas of accounting, management accounting, auditing and corporate governance. He has authored six books and published articles in peer-reviewed journals.

Programme Objectives

The programme aims at providing following objectives to working professionals:

Program Highlights

  • Focus: DCP focuses on imparting skill-set for long-term career growth in services sector. This learnings facilitated by the first year program in Dubai which is a global hub for services.
  • Orientation: The program is oriented towards practice in an international context. Industry orientation is institutionalised in the form of a year-long industry interaction module in the form of International Business Consulting Project and other field activities. These are in addition to the field projects assigned by faculty members in their respective courses.
  • Engagement: Students are constantly engaged beyond the class-room hours in a meaningful manner. Every DCP students is a member of a formal committee vested with the responsibility of an organisational activity/task.
  • Pedagogy: The program stresses looking beyond lecturing and case studies. The program emphasises learning by doing and experiencing.

Faculty: DCP is mentored by the faculty pool from all over the world. DCP faculty comprises of academicians and practioners.

A three years bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline. Final year students can also apply.

To apply for IMT Ghaziabad’s two year PGDM program, applicants must be registered for CAT-2016 OR XAT-2017 OR have taken/taking the GMAT (January 1, 2013 – March 31, 2017). In the case of the candidates applying on the basis of GMAT and score is not provided, processing of application will be provisional, subject to IMT receiving the official GMAT score on or before April 15, 2017.

For NRI/PIO/OCI/Foreign Nationals- All applicants in this mentioned category can apply to IMT Ghaziabad’s Dual Country Program on the basis of valid GMAT scores. The application process for such applicants will start from November 2016.

Selection Process

I. The Critical Thinking Test
After arrival and registration of the shortlisted candidates, there will be a 30 minute long Critical Thinking Test, which will evaluate the candidate on three parameters – critical thinking, written communication skills and innovation & creativity.

II. Group Exercise
After the critical thinking test, the candidates will be formed into small groups and will perform a Group Exercise. The group will be given a problem to solve or a task to perform, which they must do together with discussion among group members. For instance, they might be asked to do a short case study, solve a puzzle, or solve a business problem. This will take approximately 30 minutes and will evaluate the candidate on four parameters – contribution of ideas, leadership potential, interpersonal skills and communication & attitude.

III. Personal Interview
After the Group Exercise, the candidate will have a personal interview of approximately 15 minutes, during which he/she will be evaluated on four parameters: academic orientation, communication skills, versatility (extra-curricular activities / general awareness), as well as values & maturity. Candidates With work experience will be additionally evaluated on the relevance of their work experience in relation to the PGDM program.

The final merit of the candidate will be a cumulative weighted average which has the Academic Scores, Work Experience and the scores obtained during the CT-GE-PI process.

2) PGDM – Executive

Eligibility: Graduate in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate + minimum 5 years work experience after graduation as on 30th June 2016.

Company-sponsored candidates will be preferred.

Test Score(s) Considered: CAT 2012/CAT 2013 / CAT 2014 / CAT 2015 / XAT 2013/XAT 2014 / XAT 2015 / XAT 2016 Or GMAT Test taken between (1 August 2011 to 31 July 2016).

3) PGDM Part Time

Eligibility: Graduate + 2 years’ work experience after graduation (1 year in case of Post-Graduates or those with a professional qualification) as on 30th June 2016.

Selection will be done through an entrance test (Aptitude Test) to be organized by IMT at Ghaziabad Campus followed by Personal Interview.

Aptitude Test
Test will have multiple choice questions (100 Qns) and duration of test would be of 2 hours (120 minutes). Test will have 3 sections as per following :-
1. Numerical Ability (30 Qns)
2. Data Interpretation (40 Qns)
3. Verbal Ability (30 Qns)


Eligibility: The applicant should carry minimum 3 (three) years of work experience after completing a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in any discipline.

Selection Criteria 
The admission process for PGPM is aimed at selecting candidates with innovation and critical thinking potential. Hence, each candidate is evaluated holistically across different parameters so as to select the candidate with high potential. Different components of selection criteria are as follows:

My tryst with IMT started a few years before I joined. I was on my way to the Ghaziabad passport office and among all the chaos, crossed this peaceful, haven of knowledge wondering what it would be like to be among one of the lucky few who pass through those gates. I could almost smell the brilliance from outside and right then I knew I was destined to be there.
