Programmes Offered

1) PGDM Programme

IMT-Nagpur offers Two Year Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), a fully residential programme to equip the students with comprehensive management education. It aims to provide young graduates an opportunity to develop management skills and to compete successfully in the global business environment. The curriculum has been designed to lay a strong foundation for logical and analytical skills of the students.

The programme provides an intensive, stimulating and challenging learning experience in the management discipline. The curriculum covers all the important areas of management which may be expected from a manager.

Programme Objectives

  • To critically appraise a range of relevant theoretical business management concepts.
  • To demonstrate proficiency in analysing and interpreting a wide range of business information related to the various functional areas of management.
  • To develop and demonstrate key personal and inter-personal skills required for effective management and implementation of solutions to business problems at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • To update the knowledge base related to various business domains and appreciate their significance. To critically appreciate the significance of recent theoretical developments in business and their strategic implications.

2) PGDM (Finance)

Finance is at the center of decision making in any organization, be it profit making or otherwise. Business managers need a certain level of financial knowledge and expertise to evaluate their business performance and financial risk and determine financial strategies for their businesses. This programme will introduce participants to financial decision tools as well as financial management theories and practices that enable them to interpret financial statements, plan, and measure performance using budgets and other financial techniques, make financial decisions, undertake valuation of securities and manage financial risks.

The programme takes a realistic look into the broad aspects of Financial Management and relates theories, tools and techniques to practical experience. It also provides an exposure to the prevailing financial environment in the country.

Programme Objectives

  • To give an insight into the financial aspects of a business operation
  • To enable understanding and interpretation of the financial statements produced by the organizations
  • To equip participants with the practical strategies and concepts used in security markets to maximize company gains
  • To develop a good understanding of knowledge required and techniques available to enable managers to measure and manage business performance in their organizations.

3) PGDM (Marketing)

Marketing plays an important role in the growth of a company. As a function, its focus is on customers, it channelizes the mindset of business towards customers to deliver superior customer experience. In the process it adds value to the company in a sustainable way. With increase in literacy and travel, advent of internet and global communication, people are more informed, more demanding and consumption cultures are changing. Marketing diagnoses the change, addresses the change and also creates the change by launching new offerings in the market, communicating them and creating new markets. They all occur in a climate of intense competition.  

The programme develops new generation of leaders with a strong foundation in marketing theories, practices and skills.

  • Provide an understanding of marketing management at a basic level.
  • To feel the depth of marketing function through elective courses.
  • Recognise the ever changing nature of market place and evolution of different practices.
  • Understand use of technology and internet as a strategic medium, in marketing.

Selection Process

IMT will short-list the candidates for Critical Thinking-Group Exercise-Personal Interview (CT-GE-PI) process based on their best available test scores in CAT / XAT / GMAT / CMAT for Nagpur campus. Post short-listing on the basis of available scores, applicants will be called for CT-GE-PI process and the final offering will be based on scores, performance in CT-GE-PI process and overall profile of candidate.

CT-GE-PI process

IMT has made a very significant change in the selection process of candidates who are "IMT-fit". IMT will conduct the Critical Thinking, Group Exercise and Personal Interview (CT-GE-PI)  process in February 2018 for shortlisted candidates for its final selection process. For the shortlisted candidates, there will be a 30 minute long Critical Thinking Test, which will evaluate the candidate on three parameters - critical thinking, writing communication skills and innovation /creativity. After the critical thinking test, the candidates will be formed into small groups and will perform a Group Exercise which will evaluate the candidate on four parameters - Contribution of ideas, Leadership potential, Interpersonal skills and Communication & Attitude. Post the Group Exercise, the candidate will have a Personal Interview of approximately 15 minutes, during which he/she will be evaluated on domain knowledge, communication skills, versatility (extra-curricular/general awareness), as well as values and maturity.

Candidates with work experience will be additionally evaluated on the relevance of their work experience in relation to the PGDM program.
