Zig Ziglar, an American author and a motivational speaker, once said, “Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude”, which throws light on the importance of having the right attitude towards life.
It is true that if we have the necessary skills but lack the positive attitude in life, we will not go far.
Attitude refers to your thinking and outlook towards life - some people are pessimistic and when they fail at tasks, they lose hope and give up, whereas others are optimistic and even when there are obstacles and challenges in life, they do not give up easily.
To succeed in life, you need to be determined to reach your goals, despite the setbacks you may face along the way.
Skills and knowledge are important, no doubt, but they can be acquired with time; however, attitude is something that is inherent in an individual and it is comparatively difficult to change with time.
So, if a person is hardworking and keen to succeed in life, he will surely enhance his skills to climb higher in life, which is why attitude is considered more important than aptitude.
On the other hand, an intelligent yet lazy individual cannot be successful in life because he lacks the motivation and determination to excel.

Thomas Edison once said, “Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration,” which is similar to Zig Ziglar’s saying that to succeed in life, hard work and perseverance are extremely important.
Famous personalities such as Mahatma Gandhi, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstein, and Mother Teresa were successful in their fields because of their positive attitude – when their journeys became challenging, they did not give up; instead, they kept on trying till they reached their goals.
This is the power of positive attitude, which cannot be substituted by aptitude.
