If your performance in XAT, CAT and other MBA entrance exams wasn’t anywhere near good in 2018, you can focus your energies on the CMAT exam which will be held shortly on January 28 this year. The marks scored in this exam are accepted in some of the leading business schools or in other words the top CMAT colleges in India. In this detailed write-up on the top CMAT colleges, we will take you through the institutes that will accept the CMAT 2019 score and the possible CMAT 2019 cut-offs.
The more than 1000 AICTE approved PGDM and MBA colleges which will accept the CMAT 2019 cut-offs and scores for admission to their 2019 MBA/PGDM batch can be essentially bracketed together as CMAT colleges. The CMAT 2019 exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in two shifts on January 28, 2019. Until last year, this exam used to be conducted by the AICTE and it will be the first time that this exam will be conducted in two sessions rather than one.
A great multitude of MBA colleges will accept the CMAT score this time and the admission to these institutes will be open till February 2019. The precise CMAT score requirement to get admitted to these schools will be based on their corresponding admission policies for the next academic year and also on their CMAT score requirement last year. If we take a closer look, these institutes are essentially private PGDM colleges or University business schools offering MBA degrees among many others. The CMAT cut-offs set by these institutes may vary from one school to the other. Many of them also consider the CMAT sectional cut-offs while shortlisting the candidates.
Almost all the Maharashtra MBA colleges that offer AICTE approved PGDM, MMS (Master of Management Studies) or MBA programs and are participating in the CAP (Centralised Admission Process) 2019, conducted by the DTE Maharashtra will accept the CMAT 2019 score. The DTE Maharashtra had categorically clarified via its notification in October 2017 (reference 2A/ADM/MBA-MMS/2017/1221) that all the Maharashtra MBA colleges will accept the CMAT score for admitting All India category candidates to their MBA programs if their admission process is under the DTE Maharashtra’s governance.
