CMAT Eligibility Criteria 2024

CMAT Eligibility Criteria: The CMAT 2024 is a national level entrance examination and is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Till 2018 it was conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). NTA has released the 2024 eligibility criteria needed to register for the CMAT exam 2024, in order to get admission in all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges has.

CMAT 2024 Exam Pattern 5 Sections- Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, Innovation and Entrepreneurship 
CMAT 2024 Exam Duration 180 Minutes or 3 Hours
CMAT 2024 Total Questions 100 (20 in each section)
CMAT 2024 Marking Scheme Correct Answer +4

CMAT Eligibility Criteria 2024: Key Highlights

CMAT Eligibility Criteria

After clearing off the CMAT 2024 cutoff, candidates will be eligible to apply for the following types of programmes across all AICTE affiliated colleges that offer these courses-

1.    PGDM–Post Graduate Diploma in Management
2.    MBA and similar–Masters of Business Administration
3.    PGCM– Post Graduate Certificate in Management
4.    Executive PGDM

However, please note that the admission will be made as per the admission criteria set by the individual University or institution. The important details are as follows –

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a Recognised University
  • Minimum Duration- 3 years or more
  • Minimum Marks-
    • General Category -50%
    • Reserved Category–45%
PGCM 1-2 years
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a Recognised University
  • Minimum Duration- 3 years or more
  • Minimum Marks- None
Executive PGDM 15 months
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a Recognised University
  • Minimum Duration- 3 years or more
  • Minimum Marks-
    • General Category – 50% 
    • Reserved Category – 45%
  • Minimum Work Experience – 5 years of relevant managerial/supervisory experience

CMAT Eligibility Criteria 2024: Points to Remember

1.    As per AICTE, there is no disclosure of %age of reservation for different categories
2.   There are following categories may be applicable to various AICTE approved colleges that are eligible to apply for the CMAT exam 2024 :

  • Scheduled Caste (SC)
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST)
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC)
  • Physically Handicapped (PH)
  • Kashmiri Migrant (KM) 
  • Female category
  • Defence Persons category

3.   The AICTE participating institutes will have different guidelines according to category and the directions of their corresponding State Government. Candidates must make a note of it
4.    The reservation of seats will also depend on the creamy and non – creamy layer for the for OBC candidates through CMAT 2024. It will depend on whichever category the OBC candidate falls into
5.   Candidates with no less than 40% of the below disabilities are defined by AICTE as PWD (Person with Disability) candidates:

  • Visually impaired
  • Physically handicapped 
  • Hearing Impairment
  • Dumb
