Starting 2023, the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT 2023) will be conducted by the National Testing Agency. The NTA CMAT 2023 is a national level exam, which will be conducted across 84 cities in India in 2023. It is a computer-based exam and the language of the CMAT 2023 exam is English.

Until 2018, the exam was conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) as per the directions of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.

The NTA CMAT 2023 exam will be held on:

CMAT 2023 Exam Day – Saturday

CMAT 2023 Exam Duration – 180 minutes or 3 hours

CMAT 2023 Timimng – 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm

The creation of National Testing Agency (NTA) was approved by the Union Cabinet chaired by the honorable Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi. NTA has been registered as a Society under the Indian Societies Registration Act 1860.

Most entrance exams conducted by NTA will be conducted twice a year so that the candidates get ample amount of opportunities. However, the NTA CMAT 2023 exam will only be conducted ONCE a year. Exams like JEE(Main) and NEET(UG) will be conducted twice.

Q. Will there be any changes in the CMAT 2023 exam pattern since NTA will be conducting it?

No, there is no significant change in the exam pattern of CMAT 2023 and CMAT 2023 exam syllabus. It is interesting to note that there was never a pre-defined syllabus for CMAT 2023 exam, even when it was conducted by the AICTE. The CMAT 2023 marking scheme has negative marking. Q. Will there be a change in the CMAT 2023 participating institutes list since the exam is now conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency)?

No. There are still around 1000 AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges that will accept the CMAT 2023 score.

Q. Will there be a practice test released by the NTA?

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has established a network of practice test centers for students from the rural areas. This is to give a fair chance to everyone to practice before the actual exam. NTA has identified Schools and engineering colleges that have dedicated computer centers. Students can access them on a Saturday or Sunday starting from 3rd week of August. Such facilities are free of charge.

Q. Should there be a change in preparation strategy for CMAT 2023 exam since the testing agency is now NTA?

Since there is no change in the CMAT 2023 test pattern, the preparation strategy should not be affected by the change in test conducting authority from AICTE to NTA. Your prime focus should be CMAT 2023 exam only.
