IIM Sirmaur Admission Criteria 2019

IIM Sirmaur Admission Criteria 2019

IIM Sirmaur announced the admission criteria for its PGPM 2019-21 batch earlier this year. Some significant changes were made in the criteria, with the CAT cut off increased from the earlier 90 percentile to 95 percentile. The CAT cut off, as expected, was even lesser for the reserved category students. Furthermore, maximum weightage was still given to the CAT score of the candidate, during creation of the final merit list.

The 2019-21 batch has been enrolled through the Common Admission Process (CAP) conducted by IIM Ranchi. As per this process, the WAT-PI round for IIM Sirmaur, IIM Raipur, IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Sambalpur, IIM Trichy, IIM Kashipur, IIM Rohtak and IIM Kashipur was conducted by IIM Ranchi. The Common Admission Process for all these institutes remained the same, factoring in the CAT score of the candidates, their WAT-PI score, Class XII marks, marks scored in Graduation, Gender Diversity, Academic Diversity and Work Experience.

IIM Sirmaur Admission Criteria – 3 Steps

The admission criteria for IIM Sirmaur involved 3 major steps, as follows:

Step 1 - Shortlisting of the candidates based on their CAT score

IIM Sirmaur had the same shortlisting criteria for the Step 1 as was applicable to other 9 participating IIMs. The minimum percentile required to qualify for Step 2 has been detailed in the table below:

Category

QA - Quantitative Aptitude Percentile (>=)

DI & LR – Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning Percentile (>=)

VRC – Verbal and Reading Comprehension Percentile (>=)

As per the IIM Sirmaur admission criteria, all candidates who met the CAT cut off percentile in the table above, were eligible for the stage 2 of the admission process, which is the WAT-PI round.

Please note: The table above details the minimum eligibility criteria for the WAT-PI round, however, it doesn’t in any way imply entitlement. This criterion was also subject to revision by the Institute at any time based on the institutional requirements. The overall and the individual sectional percentile cut offs could be relaxed or lowered by the conducting body, if the number of shortlisted candidates were less than the minimum number of candidates that had to be called for the WAT and PI round. The right to lower or raise the cut off lied entirely with the admission committee of IIM Sirmaur.

Step 2 – Personal Presence Process (PPP) involving a Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI)

Candidates who made it through the step 1 based on their CAT percentile score had to appear for a written ability test and personal interview. They were all informed well in advance about the place and dates of these tests. These assessments were carried out in 5 locations: Bengaluru, Chennai, New Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.

Step 3 - Announcement of the Final Merit List

The final merit selection list was prepared based on the composite scores of students, calculated by factoring in the CAT 2018 scores, marks in WAT and PI round, work experience, academic profiles, academic diversity and gender diversity. The points and parameters taken into account for calculation of the composite score were as follows:
