Frequently Asked Questions – XAT 2023

FAQ1. What was the overall difficulty of the XAT 2023 exam?
Answer: As usual the XAT 2023 exam was a tough as compared to its counterparts. Comparing it with XAT 2019, the difficulty of the Decision-Making section was moderate to tough, VALR was moderate and QA section was calculation intensive. The GK section was on the tougher side.

FAQ2. Was there any negative marking in XAT 2023 exam?
Answer: There was negative marking in part A of the XAT 2023 exam which constituted of VALR, QA and DM. For every correct answer there is +1 mark and wrong answer -0.25 marks is deducted.

FAQ3. What is the ideal time one should have spent on each section of the XAT 2023 exam?
Answer: The ideal time that one should have spent on each section:

  1. Verbal Section – 50 to 55 minutes
  2. Quant Section – 60 to 65 minutes
  3. Decision Making Section – 50 to 55 minutes

Students get only 15 minutes for GK section.

FAQ4. Is there sectional time limit in XAT 2023 exam?
Answer: No there is no sectional time limit for XAT 2023 exam, except GK section.  

FAQ5. Is sectional jump allowed in XAT 2023 exam?
Answer: Yes.  

FAQ6. What is the overall cutoff expected for XLRI Jamshedpur?
Answer: The overall cutoff is expected to be 31 to 33 marks.
