Criteria of selection process at IIM Trichy
Its time now that CAT Aspirants are full of confidence after CAT 2023. But this is not enough to get through IIMs, you need to prepare for WAT and PI as per the criteria of each IIM.

Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (also referred to herein as IIM Trichy or IIM T) plans to have a batch size of 120 students for the PGP batch of 2023-25. The admission process of IIM Trichy takes into consideration the candidate’s performance in CAT, performance in Personal Interview (PI) and Written Analysis Test (WAT), academic record and relevant work experience.
A. Criteria for shortlisting for PI & WAT:
IIM T will use CAT percentile for short listing candidates for PI & WAT. Table 1 indicates the minimum performance expected from candidates to be shortlisted for the PI & WAT. Please note that achieving the cut-off percentile in CAT is a necessary but not sufficient condition for being shortlisted.

PI & WAT venues:
The Personal Interview and Written Analysis Test would be conducted at New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata. The exact date for PI & WAT will be communicated to the short listed candidates by IIM Kashipur which is co-ordinating the admission process for 2023-25 batch on behalf of IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Rohtak, IIM Tiruchirappalli, IIM Udaipur and IIM Kashipur.
B. Criteria that would be used to select candidates post Personal Interview (PI) and Written Analysis Test (WAT):
The following will be the parameters and corresponding weightages used to arrive at the composite score of the candidates, which will be used to prepare the final merit list for admissions.
1. CAT score: 50 per cent weightage.
2. Written Analysis Test (14 per cent weightage):
Vocabulary, content of writing and writing skills
3. Personal Interview (14 per cent weightage):
a. Communication, attitude and personality
b. Academic efforts and disposition
c. Managerial and leadership attributes
d. Social awareness and disposition
e. Overall presence
4. Work experience (based on quantum of work experience): 5 per cent weightage.
5. Performance at Undergraduate level: 10 per cent weightage.
This performance shall be measured by multiplying the percentage marks scored by the weightage applicable to the discipline as shown below. 10 per cent of the score so obtained shall be considered in the overall evaluation. [UG performance score = (per cent score at UG * discipline weightage)* 0.10]
To encourage diversity in the batch, differential weightage, as shown below, shall be applied to different disciplines:
a. Engineering / Technology: 0.5
b. Science/Arts / Medicine (including Pharmacy)/Commerce / Economics / Management/other disciplines:1.0
6. Master’s degree or Professional Qualification : 2 per cent weightage
(Pass in the Master Degree / final examinations of CA / ICWA/ CS)
7. Gender Diversity : 5 per cent weightage for female candidates
