CMAT is an NTA conducted entrance test for admission to the colleges that offer MBA and for those which run postgraduate diploma in management programs.

Overall level of difficulty of the paper can be rated as easy. Ideal attempt would be 67+ questions in the three hours time with more than 85% accuracy.
Section Wise analysis
Section I : Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation
Topics covered under Quantitative Techniques were:
• Number Systems
• Linear equations
• Pipes and cisterns
• Profit & Loss
• Averages
• Mixtures and Alligation
• Coordinate Geometry
• Menstruation
• Probability and
• Permutation & Combination
Questions were based on almost all the topics and could be solved easily using options. Questions were of easy to moderate difficulty level.
Topics covered under Data Interpretation were:
In Data Interpretation, there was one table and one bar graph contains one question each. These involved simple calculations like addition & percentages. One question was regarding Data Sufficiency as well.
Section II : Logical Reasoning
Questions were mostly based on:
• Syllogism and set theory
• Data arrangement
• Blood Relations
• Linear arrangements
• Coding Decoding
• Alphabet Series
• Direction based questions
• Calendars
Majority of the questions was from grouping and conditionality. A lot of information was given in these questions followed by only one question based on it. This made the questions time consuming but manageable. Questions on critical & analytical reasoning dominated the section and were slightly tricky.
Section III : Language Comprehension
A person with reasonable linguistic skills can attempt and score very well in the section. Most of the questions were based on critical reasoning based on the information given in short passages. Few questions were from the areas like Para-jumbles, idioms and fill in the blanks. What is required is the ability to read quickly & meticulously, the text along with hidden messages and implicit connotations. Plus decent amount of vocabulary and analytical ability would have helped.
Section IV : General Awareness
Questions were asked on various areas of general awareness like sports, arts and culture, geography, history, politics, business and so on. A consistent reading of newspapers/journals, as also keeping track of the goings ¬ on in contemporary world would enable a candidate to do well in this section.
